The tumor growth with fluid accumulation in the areas of the lungs and abdomen triggers mesothelioma symptoms. The symptoms can determine the condition and the stage of mesothelioma. Mesothelioma Causes and Risk Factors
It starts with cells having a series of genetic mutations that cause cells to grow and multiply in an uncontrolled manner. The reasons behind the initial genetic mutations turning to mesothelioma are not known yet. But the causes of mesothelioma have been identified by the researchers. The common causes are the environment, inherited conditions, lifestyle, and one’s health conditions.
The prime factor for the development of mesothelioma is exposure to asbestos fibers. Therefore, need not mention, those exposed to asbestos fiber or dust are more vulnerable to mesothelioma.
Today, asbestos is in use for many purposes such as insulation, roofing sheets, and heat resistance. How asbestos fiber affects people is discussed in detail below.
Apart from asbestos erionite fiber has also been identified to cause mesothelioma and found to be higher in the areas of Cappadocia in Turkey.

The asbestos fiber causes the development of pleural mesothelioma. While inhaling asbestos fiber can get stuck in the lungs linings. Eventually, the stuck asbestos fibers cause inflammation and thereby thicken the layers of the pleura. A result of the thickened lining of the lungs and the fluid build-up around it restrict the lungs FROM expanding fully while inhaling. This means feeling uneasiness and pain while breathing.
